What Is the Kingdom All About? Ruling With Christ Through Servant Leadership
This sermon from Hebrews 2:5–9 asks “What do we get?” in God’s kingdom and explains humanity’s original design to bear God’s image and exercise dominion, a purpose marred by the fall and selfishness. It highlights Jesus as the perfect human—the “second Adam”—who was made lower than the angels to suffer death for every person and who models true greatness through service. Drawing from Romans 8, the message teaches believers are adopted as God’s children, heirs and joint-heirs with Christ, and from Revelation 20 and Daniel 7 that saints will reign with Him, yet in a kingdom where the King serves. Using Luke 22 and Matthew 19–20, it contrasts worldly status with grace-based reward and calls Christians to humility, love, and serving others as Christ did.
